How do I connect my gaming device?

If your gaming device, console, or smart device (Roku, Alexa, Apple TV, iHome etc.) supports a wired ethernet connection, it is STRONGLY recommended that you connect it to one of the available wired ports on the Cisco Access Point in the living space of your unit.

However, if you prefer to have your gaming console or smart device connected via wireless, you will need to complete and submit the form below. Completing this form will allow us to manually add the MAC address of the device or console to our system so that it is authenticated and no password will be needed to connect.

When connecting your device or console wirelessly, you will need to make sure that you use the “URWintek-Gaming” SSID for wireless connectivity. The URWintek-Gaming wireless network is NOT username and password authenticated as most gaming devices/platforms do not support usernames. The “URWintek” SSID will not work for your gaming console.

Why is your device’s MAC Address needed? We need to know the MAC Address of your gaming console that you wish to connect to the URWintek-Gaming wireless network in order to allow it onto the network.

How do I find the MAC Address of my device? The MAC Address will be an alpha numeric phrase that is 12 characters long. For example, “BACDEF0112A4”. Please click on this link for a document that explains how to find the MAC address on your gaming console.

What happens after I submit the required form? Once you submit the form we will add the MAC Address to the allowed devices able to connect to the URWintek-Gaming wireless network and send you an email with confirmation that this has been completed. After you receive this email, please select the URWintek-Gaming wireless network on your device and it will connect.
